Intern Program

FBCI's community intern program was established in 2004. Ms. Kristen Yoo, our first intern, who began working at the Institute in early 2004, has now moved on to study at Georgetown University Medical School. In the summer of 2004, the FBCI offices supported 9 full- and part-time interns from local high schools. In 2005, we had 4 part-time interns during the school year and 6 full-time interns over the summer. In 2006, we hosted 5 part-time interns during the school year and 3 part-time summer interns.

FBCI is a community service project of Palo Alto High School and its neighbor Castilleja High School, which means that students from these schools receive community service credits toward their graduation while obtaining valuable skills in leadership and independent project management. Key Club International has also played an important part in providing FBCI with interns and volunteers from diverse Bay Area schools. Some of the FBCI summer interns are pictured below. Thanks for all your dedication in the 2004, 2005 and 2006 programs, everybody!
